A passionfruit cooperative is a farmer-led organization that unites smallholder growers to increase production, improve quality, and access better markets. Members work together in land preparation, seedling distribution, pest and disease management, and harvesting to ensure consistent supply. Through collective marketing, the cooperative reduces middlemen, negotiates fair prices, and connects farmers to juice processors, exporters, and local markets. It also provides training in modern farming techniques, promotes the use of disease-free seedlings, and encourages digital record-keeping for traceability. Beyond economic gains, the cooperative builds solidarity, empowers rural youth and women, and enhances household incomes while supporting community development.
