Buluko Textile Share Company (BTSC) represents a significant investment initiative established in Ethiopia through dcollaboration between the Oromia Regional State Public Enterprise Bureau and Ethiopian investors, executed via a Public Private Partnership (PPP). The company was formed following the acquisition of the assets of Ayka Addis Textile and Investment Group from the Development Bank of Ethiopia (DBE) on January 24, 2023. The total capital invested in this venture amounts to 1.825 billion Birr, marking a revival after a hiatus of over four years. In April 2023, BTSC officially assumed control of the operations from the DBE. As a vertically integrated manufacturer, BTSC operates across several key areas, including Spinning, Knitting, Dyeing, and Sewing (Garment) production. This integrated structure provides the company with the capability to fulfill a diverse range of product requirements while delivering professional and efficient services. Currently, BTSC has created job opportunities for 2,390 employees (676 male and 1,714 female), and this number is expected to increase to 10,000 in the coming years as full production capacity is anticipated. BTSC holds the distinction of being Ethiopia's largest integrated textile company, recognized for its substantial investments in state-of-the-art textile and garment manufacturing technologies. The firm specializes in the design and production of various knitted fabrics tailored for discerning local and international clients. Furthermore, BTSC incorporates manufacturing units for a range of trims and accessories, including but not limited to paper printing, fabric screen printing, embroidery, elastic production, poly bag preparation, label production, and carton manufacturing.
