Papyrus Mining and Exploration Company Limited is a private own company founded by young South Sudanese Mining Engineers and it is operating in line with the government of the Republic of South Sudan in achieving sustainable development and management of mineral resources for national prosperity. The company is incorporated in October 03, 2019 by the Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs in accordance with the South Sudan Companies Act 2012, under the registration number 32,901.
The company was established to respond to the aspirations of the government for diversification of South Sudan’s economic sectors and reduction of 98% oil dependency. It operates under various mineral policies and regulations such as the South Sudan Mining Act 2012 and South Sudan Companies Act 2003 respectively.
Papyrus Mining and Exploration Company Limited places emphasis on the exploration and exploitation of precious minerals such as gold, silver and copper; other metallic minerals like iron, nickel and cobalt but its mandate stretches beyond the confines of strategic minerals and involves interests in exploration of base metals, energy minerals, none metallic, industrial minerals, mining investment as well as trading and beneficiation of mineral products.
